HOW TODD BOWLES AND THE JETS THREW THE GAME

On Sunday, the New York Jets hosted the Minnesota Vikings for their 3rd straight home game. Unfortunately, the Jets lost 37-17 and fell to 3-4. Much of the blame could be on the decisions Bowles made in the game.

First, with just under a minute to go before halftime, the Jets had 3 timeouts remaining and yet Bowles chose not to use them and let the clock run down to the half. This is an area where Bowles continues to struggle since he started coaching the Jets in 2015. While the defense played very well in the first half, it was painfully obvious that they were tired in the second half as they allowed the Vikings to convert on 3rd downs. The killer play was on 4th and 8 when the defense choked and gave up the nail in the coffin touchdown.

On offense, Sam Darnold did not have a good day at all. Darnold only completed 17 for 42 passes for 206 yards, 1 touchdown but 3 interceptions. That’s right 3 interceptions. If a quarterback throws 3 interceptions per game, it is very likely he is not going to get the win.

In addition, many of the receivers dropped perfectly thrown passes. However, Darnold is only a rookie but he will have some questions to answer before next week.

The Jets will travel to Chicago on Sunday to play the Bears. This will be another tough matchup. Obviously, the Jets have to play better moving forward if they want to win. Things will be a lot better if they are 4-4 after next week as opposed to 3-5. Don’t worry Jets fans, Darnold and the Jets will bounce back soon. J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS!!!
