SUPER BOWL LIII HAS NOT LIVED UP TO ITS HYPE

Super Bowl LIII was a matchup between the No. 2 seed Los Angeles Rams in the NFC and the No. 2 seed New England Patriots in the AFC. Both the Rams and Patriots met back in Super Bowl XXXVI with the Patriots beating the Rams 20-17 in a down to the wire game. This was the start of the Patriots dynasty. Throughout the past 18 years, the dynasty still lives after the Patriots and Rams met again in Super Bowl LIII and replicated their first go around with a 13-3 win over the now Los Angeles Rams. This is now their sixth Super Bowl victory.

Love them or hate them, it is pretty impressive for a team to completely dominate those around them. That is just what QB Tom Brady, HC Bill Belichick and the Patriots have done since 2001 and it does not look like they will stop anytime soon. Despite being down Safety Patrick Chung to an injury in the 3rd quarter, they were still able to pull off a defensive victory. In addition, on offense, RB Sony Michel, WR Julian Edelman (Also Super Bowl MVP), and TE Rob Gronkowski all contributed to a clutch Super Bowl performance guiding their team to the title.

The Rams defense played extremely well but the Patriots offense did just enough to get the job done. While on the offensive side of the football, the Rams looked like they were not quite ready for the big game. Also, Goff was under way too much pressure and they were not able to get a consistent running game going. Overall, the BEST part of the game was when “Broadway Joe” Namath carried the Lombardi Trophy up to the platform! Don’t worry Jets fans…keep being hopeful…we will get there someday soon.
