Jets Vs Packers Preview

After dominating late in the fourth quarter in the past two weeks, the Jets propelled to victories over the Steelers in Pittsburgh and the Dolphins at Metlife. Now, they will be put up to face an all time great in QB Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers... At Lambeau Field. Can the Jets continue their winning ways going into a hostile Green Bay environment on the road?

For today's injury report, starting with the Jets, Rookie 1st round draft pick Jermaine Johnson is out today with an ankle injury from an injury he picked up against the Dolphins last week that forced him out of the game early. OT Duane Brown is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, but he more than likely will be playing considering he was able to return and play last weekend. LB Quincy Williams returns back today from his ankle injury and was a full participant in practice during the week.

For the Packers, LB Rashan Gary is listed as questionable today with a toe injury, but will be a game time decision, along with WR Christian Watson who is out today with a hamstring injury after exiting the game in London against the Giants last weekend.

For a Packers preview, as everyone knows, the man with the discount doublecheck that's been seen on those State Farm Commercials, QB Aaron Rodgers. As most football fans know, he is one of the greatest QBs of all time and is a true winner in the league. Not only does he win with good decision-making and great throws, but he can lift any offense around him at any given moment. He will try to fool a young, hungry Jets team today. In the backfield, the Packers have a one-two punch with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillion, who both will split carries and help gain chunk yardage downfield.

Jets Rookie RB Breece Hall continues to make strides
for Gang Green in his rookie season after getting
the Rookie of the Week award for two straight weeks

For the WRs, one of Rodgers' favorite targets Randall Cobb will be someone to keep a close eye on in the Jets' secondary today. Veteran WR Allen Lazard and rookie WR Romeo Doubs also play big roles in this offense. Lastly, TE Robert Tonyan serves as an end zone target for Rodgers as well, and can be a hard cover for any defense inside their own 20 yard line.

Defensively, the Packers have a top tier pass rush under first year DC Joe Barry. Something the Packers have struggled with throughout the Rodgers era was a solid defense, and they are finally trying to fix those defensive issues. Up front, DT Kenny Clark and LB Rashan Gary (a local NJ Native) are huge pass rushers and give opposing QBs nightmares on the field. Along with the pass rush, CB Jaire Alexander leads a solid secondary as well and is not the guy you want to throw towards in a big game situation, along with S Adrian Amos. This defense is taking huge steps from where they were a few years back, and is now considered a threat within the league. The Jets must continue to balance out offensively as they have done well the past two weekends.

For the Jets to win today, one of the main goals to success will be to put pressure up front. The only way Aaron Rodgers gets stopped when he loses is to keep putting pressure on him and to record sacks. This Jets defense has been led with pressure the past two weeks from guys like DT Quinnen Williams and DE Carl Lawson. With continued pressure on Aaron Rodgers and late game offensive flow, the Jets can find the recipe to success and make it three wins in a row.

Some key Jets players to watch for with the Jets today will be rookie RB Breece Hall along with WRs Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson. With these guys continuing to produce week in and week out, the Jets are achieving lots of success and seeing more victories on Sunday. For today's prediction, I am starting to have hope that the Jets could be turning a new leaf. Nobody said winning in Green Bay is easy, but with the way this Jets team is coming into this week, I am confident they can come up with a big performance today. I'm going to take the Jets in a high-scoring game winning this one by a score of 27-24.
