On Sunday, the New York Jets traveled to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. It is their first 0-4 start since 1996 and we all know what happened that year (1-15). The game was a dumpster fire from the start as the Jets quickly went 3 and out, giving the Eagles the ball at midfield. The Eagles capitalized on the great field position quickly jumping ahead with a 7-0 lead. For the third straight game, QB Sam Darnold was unable to start due to not being cleared yet by the team doctors. Therefore, third-string QB Luke Falk was once again under center and he was absolutely horrendous. He completed 15/26 pass attempts for only 120 yards, no touchdowns, and 2 interceptions (one being a pick-six). Also, the offense was barely able to move the ball past midfield as has been the case the last couple of weeks. The Jets only points of the game were set up by a muffed punt that gave them the ball in the red-zone resulting in a touchdown. It seems the entire team has given up and remain desperate for Darnold to return.
In addition, the abysmal offensive line was once again unable to protect their quarterback as he was sacked 7 times. On a somewhat positive note, the defense actually played pretty well. It would be hard for anyone to notice that if they did not watch the game and just saw the final score. Overall, everybody at One Jets Drive has been frustrated with the loss of Darnold, the offense doing nothing, the defense being overworked, along with the groin injury to CJ Mosley.
