Jets Vs Bengals Preview

As the Jets look to stay hot and keep their slim playoff dreams alive, they will start off the final month of the NFL regular season heading to Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio to take on Andy Dalton, Joe Mixon, and the lifeless and winless Cincinnati Bengals. With the recent performances the Jets have been putting up, one may think that this is a for sure win, but the Jets have been known to disappoint and that the Bengals are looking for that first win, this game may be more interesting than one would expect.

For the Injury Report, It has been announced that OT Chuma Edoga, and LB's CJ Mosley and Paul Worrilow are out this week. Edoga picked up an injury in last week's win against the Raiders, so he may miss a few weeks for that injury. Mosley and Worrilow continue to be out down the backstretch of the season. It also seems likely that CB Daryl Roberts may be back this week as well, which would be a major upgrade defensively. There are also 8 questionable players, including Roberts, but it seems likely that all 8 questionable players will play today.

QB Sam Darnold's consistent play is a major reason
the Jets have had lots of success
Over the past few weeks, Jets QB Sam Darnold has been red hot and playing probably his most consistent and strong football in this 3 game winning streak. Also, guys like TE Ryan Griffin and WR's Jamison Crowder, Robby Anderson, Braxton Berrios, and RB Le'veon Bell have been key contributors to Darnold's success. Defensively, CB's Arthur Maulet and Blessuan Austin have stepped up in the absences of Trumaine Johnson and Daryl Roberts as well as S Jamal Adams, who has been a major force on defense during this win streak. Because of this winning streak, the Jets now see themselves just two games out of a wild card with 5 games left to go, but even though there are a lot of teams fighting in the hunt, the Jets can still keep playing hard, since truthfully, anything is possible.

The two best offensive players for the Bengals.
Joe Mixon (#28) and Tyler Boyd (#83)
For a quick and very brief preview on the Bengals, there truly isn't much else to say. They just aren't good. After starting with QB Andy Dalton for the start of the season, HC Zac Taylor decided to switch to his backup QB Ryan Finley for a few weeks, and that didn't work out either. He has just announced he will be starting Dalton against the Jets, who believe it or not, has had recent success playing the Jets. Hopefully, that recent success comes to an end. On offense, they have three guys who are factors: RB Joe Mixon, WR Tyler Boyd, and TE Tyler Eifert. AJ Green has been hurt the entire season for them and it looks likely he may not even hit the field this season considering how bad his team is. Defensively, they're weak, and one of the worst defenses in the entire NFL, so Darnold and the Jets must find a way to expose that flaw, even on the road. They have no power defensive players on their team. Yes they're THAT bad!

Andy Dalton (Pictured) will be getting
the start for the Bengals today
In order for the Jets to bring back a win home from Cincinnati, they must play without making dumb mistakes, and they've been known to do that against weak teams. Earlier this year, they played down to the competition against the Dolphins and ended up losing 26-18 and got the Dolphins their first win this year. Boy oh boy what an embarrassment that was. Let's leave that poor play back in Miami. While Andy Dalton has not played well this year for the Bengals, the Jets must put lots of pressure on him and he for sure will make tons of mistakes. For the Jets receivers, today should be a field day considering the Bengals CB's are Darqueze Dennard and William Jackson III. Those guys can easily be beaten so Darnold must be willing to continue to stretch the field as well as he's been the past few weeks during this game.

For today's prediction, It can't go without saying that this will be a competitive game and The Jets are not going to fly by this team by any means. The Jets have had some ugly wins in the past, and it seems like the kind of game where that may have to happen. Since this Jets team has me feeling lucky as well, lucky number 34 comes back into play. This will mark the 4th straight week with 34 points and a W, handing the Bengals yet another L. Give me the Jets in an ugly and hard-fought win 34-30.
