Jets Vs Seahawks Preview

After what was a game to forget last week, the Jets travel across the country into Seattle to take on former Jets S Jamal Adams, QB Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. At this point, the Jets are taking things game by game in order to best prepare for the road ahead. Originally coming into this year's schedule, fans knew coming into Seattle was going to be no easy ride, and Seattle is continuing to fight for playoff positioning. This game is important to them and they would like to win to try to keep up for the NFC West race and a playoff push here in December. The Jets must be ready for Seattle to come with all forces ahead today.

In today's injury report, a few notable players for the Jets would be RB Frank Gore, WR Denzel Mims and WR Jamison Crowder. Gore had a concussion last week against the Raiders early in that game and was unable to return, which gave RB's Ty Johnson and Josh Adams more carries. Gore is listed as questionable today, but even if he is able to play, the Jets will most likely continue with Johnson and Adams this week, as it worked very well and they rushed for over 200 yards combined in last week's game against the Raiders. The Seahawks aren't stout defensively, so this will give the Jets a chance to run wild again this week.

Jamison Crowder is questionable this week with a calf injury. It seems likely that he will go this week, despite being limited at practice. Along with Crowder, Mims is out this week due to COVID protocol after he had a family emergency in practice this week, which caused him to go back to Texas to see them. He should be good to play next week against the Rams. S Ashtyn Davis and LB Jordan Jenkins are both out today as well (foot and shoulder).

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is a versatile player
and can make any given play in any given moment
For a quick preview of the Seahawks, it can't be started without talking about their amazing QB Russell Wilson. Even not being a Seahawks fan, Wilson is a treat to watch and is a very 2 dimensional QB. He is strong on the run and also has an amazing throw ability with plays he can make downfield. They also feature some strong offensive pieces as well. They have a workhorse RB in Chris Carson and feature two Pro Bowl level WR's in Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. They also have WR David Moore, who is another go to option and TE Will Dissly, who is another secure target for Wilson to throw to. Their offense comes into this game and any game as an automatic threat, and Russell Wilson will be throwing around the Jets secondary a lot today. Expect a lot of Lockett and Metcalf in this one.

On defense, the Seahawks can be beaten, even despite having some highlight players. one of their defensive leaders is a former Jets star Jamal Adams. As Jets fans know well, this is the first game against Adams since he was traded away per his request. I expect Adams to play with a chip on his shoulder today being against his former team. Sam Darnold, I'd pay close attention to where that man is on the field at all times. They also have fellow S Quadre Diggs, who is a secondary threat as well. LB's KJ Wright and Bobby Wagner line out the defense and are veterans and long time Seahawks as well.

If the Jets want to stick around, they must capitalize on any mistakes from the Seahawks offense and turn it into points. The Giants put lots of pressure on Russell Wilson last week and it forced him to rush throws and not be able to move the ball efficiently as he does on offense, and therefore were able to win last week. If the Jets can do the same, forcing Russell Wilson to rush plays and not get comfortable, they could hopefully do the same and win as well. As hard as it might be, it's possible.

Jets QB Sam Darnold must keep the offense consistent this week just as he did against a weak Raiders defense last week. Even after the turnovers, he buckled down and got comfortable using his recievers and RB's and moving the ball downfield. Against a questionable Seahawks defense, the Jets can definitely try to keep the ball moving forward from last week's offensive showing and turn it into positive possessions today. It will definitely be a high scoring game today too, which leads into the prediction. The Jets ultimately don't match up well with this Seahawks heavy pass offense, which is the Jets weakest department defensively. The Seahawks will be moving the ball around easily today, and even despite the Jets getting points on the board, it won't be enough to stop a Seahawks team hungry for victory. I got the Seahawks winning this one 38-21.

Jets RB Ty Johnson had a solid performance last week,
running for 104 yards. He hopes to continue his solid play this week
