Jets Vs Bills Preview

In today's season finale for the Green and White, they will travel up North to visit the potential AFC East Champs Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills up Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, NY. The Jets might just have one last game left of football today, but today will be an opportunity to play spoilers and have to force the Bills to settle for a Wild Card spot and have to go away in the first round of the playoffs. The Jets took a tough loss to Tom Brady and the Bucs last weekend in the Jets final home game by a score of 28-24. Hopefully, more convincing performances from Jets QB Zach Wilson leads to him playing well today. We will find out in Wilson's debut against the Bills.

For today's injury report, the Jets return back multiple starters this week, one being DT Quenin Williams. The biggest loss in this matchup for the Jets will be the absence of WR Braxton Berrios, who has been on a tear the past 3 weekends for the Jets, scoring TD's in all 3 games. He will be missed a lot today. The Bills have a thin injury list as well, but it would be expected that they might play second string players if the game becomes out of reach at any point. Bills WR Emmanuel Sanders is listed as doubtful today and most likely will not play. Overall, both teams come into this game with numbers ready if needed.

Bills WR Stefon Diggs has already had over 1,100 yards
receiving this season along with 9 TD's as well
For today's Bills preview, they come into this game at 10-6 on the year, and have already pounced on the Jets earlier in the year at Metlife by a score of 45-17 (I witnessed it in person, It was ugly). They have had lots of success over the past few seasons, thanks to the likes of Bills QB Josh Allen. Allen as mentioned on the blog before is super elusive and can play well under pressure. Along with Allen, WR Stefon Diggs is a nightmare to deal with as well, as he already has over 1,100 yards receiving this year, and posted nearly 200 yards receiving earlier this year at Metlife against the Jets secondary. Jets rookie CB Brandin Echols had a lot of poor coverage last time we saw him, so they must double cover him this time around. Bills RB Devin Singletary will play more of a role this time, as he was limited last time these two teams met this year. The Bills have three solid options in the backfield, between Singletary, Zach Moss, and Matt Breida who scored last time the Bills played the Jets. At TE, Dawson Knox has also broken out for a big season this year as well, and is a big endzone target as well.

Defensively, the Bills are towards the top of the league and are solid from the defensive front all the way to the secondary. Upfront, DE's Jerry Hughes and rookie Greg Rosseau line up and dominant pass rush and run blocking. At the LB spot, Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds are both quality LB's and can provide good drop back coverage along with good pass rushing ability as well. In the secondary, CB Levi Wallace and S Jordan Poyer are both proven at their positions as well and will force Zach Wilson to have to make smart decisions to avoid what Mike White did against this defense earlier in the year (throw 4 picks).

As it has worked well for the Jets the past few weeks, the continued combination of run to pass has been working, and RB Michael Carter will be ok to play today despite exiting early last week with a concussion against the Bucs. The Jets must continue to utilize him to help him continue to gain confidence. With the return of WR Jamison Crowder this week as well, he must play a factor in this game in order for the Jets to have any chance of coming out victorious today.

For today's final preview article of the 2021-2022 season, this game by no means is an easy one for the Jets. Being that the Bills are playing for a division title and for playoff seeding today, they will be hungry for a victory in this one, even if it's the 4 win New York Jets. Although the Jets will have a chance at the upset bid, I can't see it happening today and to me, seems highly unlikely that this season will end with a Green and White victory. I have the Bills winning this one today by a score of 30-14.
