MIKE WHITE PUTS ON OFFENSIVE MASTERCLASS IN MUCH NEEDED WIN

On Sunday, the New York Jets took on the Chicago Bears at MetLife Stadium. There were a lot of uncertainties heading into this game regarding the two teams' starting quarterbacks. Originally, this was supposed to be a matchup of the two quarterbacks selected in last year’s draft in Justin Fields (Bears) and Zach Wilson (Jets). Unfortunately though, that was not the case as we got Trevor Siemian for the Bears due to Fields nursing a shoulder injury and Mike White for the Jets due to poor play and lack of accountability from Zach Wilson. The most important thing is that the Jets got the win they so desperately needed to stay in the playoff race and play meaningful games in December. The Jets are now 7-4 on the season.

In terms of the offense, they had their best performance by far all season. White completed 22 out of 28 passes for 315 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. This was much more efficient than what Zach Wilson has given the Jets the entire season and they would be wise to stick with White as long as he continues to put up big numbers and lead his team to wins. In addition, RB Zonovan "Bam" Knight deserves a shoutout with his 69 rush yards and over 100 yards of scrimmage in his first game with more than limited action. Unfortunately, RB Michael Carter headed to the locker room in the third quarter with an apparent ankle injury, but we are unsure of the severity of it. Finally, both WRs Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore had big games with Wilson scoring two touchdowns and Moore one but his first of the season.

In terms of the defense, while they allowed points on their first two drives, they did not allow anything after that. They kept their plea that they would hit no matter who was playing quarterback for the Bears and sacked Siemian twice. In addition, the defense was able to create an interception as well from LB CJ Mosley. The week prior against the Patriots was the first game all season that the Jets had not forced a turnover in. Now, they can start a new streak for the rest of the season.

Next week, the Jets will travel to US Bank Stadium to take on one of the NFL’s best in the Minnesota Vikings. This will be the biggest test of the year for this young Jets team that is looking to prove that they are ready for a playoff run. The Dallas Cowboys proved last week that the Vikings are beatable but the Jets will need to play a near perfect football game, not turn the ball over and not commit stupid penalties if they would like to pull off the ultimate upset. Jets fans…it looks like Mike White is the guy to lead your team back to the playoffs for the first time in 12 years. J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS!!!
