Now, coming off of what all Jets fans can call a very depressing week, The Jets play host to their division rival Miami Dolphins. Although it is now likely that the Jets will be playing to finish out the season and miss the playoffs for the 10th straight season, their still can be an opportunity to beat the 3-9 Dolphins as well as defend home turf. This can also be sweet revenge for the Jets, who got beat in Miami and gave them their first win under their new HC Brian Flores earlier this season in November.

Sam Darnold must play better this week in order
for the Jets to win against their division rivals
For the Jets, the atrocious offensive performance last week in Cincinnati MUST be left behind. Not only were they unable to move the ball, but they made one of the worst ranked NFL defenses look like a Superbowl contender. QB Sam Darnold went 28/48 for 239 yards and no TDs or INTs. Having to throw the ball 48 times would mark the most throws in a game Darnold has ever had in his short career, and the run game needs to be used more this week. When Darnold relies on having to throw 48 times in one game, he will continuously make mistakes and not play to his full potential. This pass and run game must be equal this week and we shouldn't have to rely on 48 throws ever again this season. It simply isn't how the Jets play football.

Unfortunately, even though the Jets should run the ball more this week, It will come at a cost sadly. RB Le'veon Bell will be out this week, which was just announced yesterday after battling an illness all week. In his place, Jets Veteran Billal Powell will be the starting RB, who will be splitting carries with Ty Montgomery as well. This is just the start of a long injury report for this week's game. It also looks likely that S Jamal Adams will be out this week with an ankle injury and is listed as doubtful. Along with this, LB CJ Mosley has called it a season, and will be getting surgery on his groin and abdomen that will shut him down for the rest of the year. CB Arthur Maulet is also doubtful this week along with OT Chuma Edoga and S Brian Poole. There are 7 other players also listed as questionable, and hopefully, they'll all be ok to play.

Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Pictured) is an elusive
QB with ability to throw the ball downfield
For a quick Dolphins preview, even though this is their second meeting this season with the Jets, they are an extremely streaky team with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. Lately, he has been finding lots of success with WR Devante Parker along with Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki. In the backfield, they have RB Kalen Ballage, who is an elusive back, but with the Jets number 1 rush defense, he for sure can be contained. The real worries for the Jets defense comes with Parker and Gesicki, since Fitzpatrick loves to throw the ball deep downfield and disrupt many NFL secondaries. He did this last week, as he lead a big comeback win against the Eagles in Miami, winning 37-31.

Defensively, they're lead By LB Jerome Baker, as well as DE Taco Charlton and S Eric Rowe. Even though they're pretty thin with defensive players, in a divisional game like this, those factors are put aside and just about anything could happen. This Dolphins team is unpredictable. They could come out and play as bad as they did against the Browns, or they could come out and be an unstoppable offensive juggernaut like last week against the Eagles. Truly, we will not know until the game happens.

For today's prediction, It is interesting to note that Fitzpatrick is going to throw the ball a lot today and challenge Jets CB's Bless Austin and Daryl Roberts. This could give the Jets secondary a very difficult time today. If the Jets win today, It will come while giving up a good amount of points defensively. Expect a high scoring game from both sides, and the Jets will figure out their offensive struggles, and solve them in a classic division rival football game. Give me the Jets to defend home turf today winning 33-30.
